Beacon Netball Success

During October half term, the year 10 Netball team set off for their Spanish tour in Salou, Spain.  The girls visited the famous Port Aventura Theme Park for a day of fun and then produced some excellent work during their training sessions, proving to be extremely strong players and a force to be reckoned with.

The girls’ attitude and progress was extremely pleasing and they were able to showcase their skill in the final tournament.

During the tournament we had the opportunity to play against teams from around the UK.  The girls won every game and were crowned the winners of the tour.

Individual honours were awarded to: Emily Jones who won the ‘Player of the Week’ award, and Georgia McKay who proved to be the ‘Most improved Player of the Week’.

The girls were fantastic ambassadors for the college showing superb team work, extremely positive attitudes and excellent skills.

A successful tour and a great week had by all.

Beacon is a thriving community college with aspirations for young people. This is not a college that stands still. Our students deserve the best if they are to succeed and the college has been through nothing less than a transformation over the last three years in order to achieve that goal.

As the school for Crowborough and the surrounding area we realise that we have a tremendous responsibility to be the best.
