Department Statement

The PSCHEE department aims to equip students with skills for life. PSCHEE aims to ensure our students are not only aware of their rights but know how to be responsible citizens of Beacon and the community. To be emotionally literate and happy. To be able to evaluate risks and make choices. To leave Beacon with the skills needed for the rest of their life.

How Parents Can Help

Please ensure your child is prepared for learning and has brought the correct equipment to their lessons. (Planner, pencil case, exercise book and homework). Please encourage your child to practice and develop the skills that have been the focus of the lesson/unit of work.

Year 10 Course Overview

Is an integrated course which incorporates PSCHEE and RS. Students sit a 1 hour module exam in Jan & June to achieve an OCR short course RS GCSE. The course covers the following:

Religion & Medical Ethics including services available

Religion, Peace & Justice & Citizenship Rights & Responsibilities

Religion & Equality & Citizenship Identity & Diversity Education

 

Year 11 Course Overview

Term 1 = Options 16+

Term 3 = Financial & Social Enterprise
Term 4 = Sex & Relationships
